The city has been known since 1097, in terms of the preservation of architectural monuments, it takes second place in Belarus after Grodno. The appearance of the city center is formed by stone structures erected in the XVII-XVIII centuries – an ensemble of an ancient Franciscan monastery, a cathedral with an exquisite facade decoration and a magnificent organ, sculptural forms of a Jesuit collegium, Butrimovich’s palace. The city also preserved the buildings of the Dominican and Carmelite monasteries, the town hall. Tour of Motol. Motol is an agro-town located in the center of Polesie. This settlement is almost 600 years old. Motol is the birthplace of the first president of Israel, Haim Weizmann. And Motol is called the culinary capital of Polesie. Motol Museum of Folk Art contains a large number of exhibits representing the history of crafts, weaving, clothing, ceremonies, and folk traditions. The museum includes a windmill, which houses a bread museum. A tour of the museum and a concert and ceremonial program “living sound” allows you to immerse yourself in the culture of Polesie, and a tasting “Motalsky prysmakі” (meat treats) will enhance this impression.

Lunch.

The planning structure of the city is typical of medieval settlements of Belarus – with a market square, a system of streets, and colorful civil buildings of the 18th-19th centuries. As in the old days in Belarus, majestic temples of different faiths of the 17th-19th centuries co-exist here. This is Catholic Assumption Church, Alexander Nevsky Orthodox Church, Protestant Evangelical Church and Jewish synagogue.
