Schedule: Saturday – Sunday.
day 1
Departure from Minsk to Mir. The tour tells the story of the Radziwill family dynasty – one of the most influential families of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania and the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth, which left a deep mark on the cultural heritage of the Belarusian people and the whole of European civilization.
The majestic Mir castle was built in the XVI century. Its bright architectural look, mighty walls and towers, colorful courtyard leave a lasting impression which will be complemented by the museum exposition inside the castle. You will feel the atmosphere of life in the castle passing through the basements where provision was kept and the Ball-room in luxury Rococo style. The castle presents the material culture of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania, hunting collections, knight armor, household items. You will also see the living rooms, classrooms and living quarters of the last titled owners of the castle, the princes of Svyatopolk-Mirsky.
The next part is the theatralized excursion in which historical characters in ancient costumes will tell about the castle. Revived customs, body language and costumes, traditions at home – through the most significant exhibits you will learn about the life and customs of the princely house of the Radziwills. And the culmination of the tour will be the dance of Prince Karol Stanislov Radziwill “Pane Kohanku” and his wife, Princess Maria Lubomirska, in the Portrait Hall. And then – a small master class on ancient dances – everyone dances!
The next part – excursion with tastings “to the guest to Pan Kohanku“, where you can taste dishes of the Belarusian cuisine and traditional alcoholic drink. And yet – the interactive format of this excursion will allow you to be in the role of the prince and his guests: the chief trapman, the gypsy king Jan Martinkevich, the princess Theafilia Constance.
Lunch at the castle restaurant. Accommodation in hotels: “Mir Castle” and “Mirsky Posad”.
