Travel information on the road.
Arrival to Smolensk.
Sightseeing tour “Smolensk is our city”. A fascinating city tour, where you will get acquainted with Smolensk. You will walk along the Fortress wall, make a wish at the Phoenix, take a picture at the sculpture of the Deer, hear the music of Glinka. You will plunge into the rich history of Smolensk land: the Monument with Eagles and the Eternal Flame, the Alley of Glory and Square in memory of the heroes are symbols of gratitude for the heroic feat that was accomplished by the Russian people in the wars of 1812 and the Second World War.
Parks and squares of Smolensk, an unusual landscape, a combination of the old and the new city, the originality and compassion of Smolensk will give you pleasant memories that will be with you for a long time.
Lunch (*extra charge).

Excursion “Shrines of the Assumption Cathedral”. The Assumption Cathedral is the hallmark of the city. Vladimir Monomakh in 1101 on the Cathedral Hill in Smolensk laid the first stone building and placed the Hodegetria icon, written according to legend by St. Luke.  Smolensk “Hodegetria” is a sacred image for soldiers and all believers, because it was precisely this icon that  Kutuzov and the entire Russian army prayed before the Battle of Borodino. The beauty and rich decoration of the Assumption Cathedral will not leave anyone indifferent. Real masterpieces of art are also stored here: a gilded carved iconostasis and a shroud embroidered by the craftworkers of Efrosinya Staritskaya.

Optionally, you can make an excursion:
Art Gallery.
The exposition of the Art Gallery is extensive and diverse. A significant section is the collection of ancient Russian art of Princess Tenisheva, represented by icons of the XI-XIX centuries. Pride of the collection – works by V.A. Tropinina, I.K. Aivazovsky, V.A. Serov, I.E. Repin, K.A. Korovina, A.N. Benoit, L.S. Popova and other masters of Russian art.
On the basis of the estate collections, an extensive collection of works by Western European artists has been formed. The names of many authors, such as Bernardo Strozzi, Giovanni Pellegrini, Simon Lutiheis, Jan Asselein, Francisco de Zurbarana, are not often found in provincial collections of Russia.
Departure from Smolensk. Moving to the ecotourcomplex “Nikolaev Ponds”.

day 2

Breakfast.

Checking out.

Departure to Mogilev.
Bus- walking tour of Mogilev. The historical past of the city and its modern life, the old city and new regions. You will visit the St. Nicholas Monastery with Onufrievsky Church. Also during the tour you will visit the Mogilev St. Nicholas Church – a monument of baroque architecture of the 17th century, which is currently the territory of the St. Nicholas Monastery; the main square of the city is Lenin Square, where the main administrative buildings of Mogilev are located. One of the most beautiful architectural monuments of Mogilev is the City Hall.

Visiting the ethnic village “Mogilev”. The city of craftsmen presents an opportunity for visitors to get acquainted with the lifestyle of Belarusian artisans of the 19th century: the house and workshop of a baker, potter, carpenter, blacksmith, master of embroidery and weaving from straws. You can see how in the old days they baked bread, cakes, loaves and try it. There will be a unique opportunity to sit behind a potter’s wheel, a carpenter and a blacksmith will talk about their hard work and demonstrate their products.

Lunch (*extra charge).
Excursion to the memorial complex “Buinichsoe field”, covered with military glory. It was here that the Soviet army showed miracles of heroism that will never sink into oblivion. The courage of the defenders of Mogilev was unlimited: the whole world saw how Soviet troops could defend themselves.  The battle on the Buinichsky field slowed down the victorious march of the fascist army, delayed the Army Group Center, which was aimed at Moscow.  The Foucault pendulum, installed there, symbolizes the eternal memory of the soldiers who died in battle.
