day 1

Departure from Minsk.

Travel information. The tour introduces the outstanding architectural monuments of Western Belarus XVII-XX centuries. The countryside preserves a rich history, the names of great figures who once lived and worked in these truly picturesque places.

Arrival to the village of Zalesye. It is located near the Draya River, the dam on which was in the second half of the 18th century created a huge beautiful pond with an island. From the pond began a beautiful park with a manor made of wood. The estate-palace of the Oginsky family in the village of Zalesye is an architectural monument of the era of classicism. This palace served as the family nest of Mikhail Kleofas Oginsky – a famous composer and public figure. The manor was a place of residence for the composer for two whole decades. Theatrical excursion in the museum-estate of Oginsky (“Zalessky estate of muses”) – extra charge for the tour.

In Smorgon, at the place where you will see the stone church of St. Archangel Michael, there was a wooden church, founded in 1503. It is from this date that the written history of Smorgon begins. Since 1947, the church was closed and used as a warehouse and store. After restoration in the 70s. XX century the monument houses an exhibition hall. And finally, in 1990, the former cathedral again became an active church, which is dedicated to the leader of the heavenly army. Thus, for more than 400 years, the building managed to serve both Calvinists, and Catholics, and Orthodox, and militant atheists.

Departure to Gervyaty. Gervyaty amazes with their huge and unique graceful silhouette of the Holy Trinity Church,  one of the most monumental churches in Belarus. Visiting the church, visiting its expressive interiors. This temple is one of the most magnificent temples in Belarus. Organ music concert (20 min).

Departure to the ethnocultural complex “Nanosy”

An excursion to the Ethnocultural complex “Nanosy-Novoselye” will be held in the most picturesque places of Belarus. The complex is located on the very shore of Lake Naroch – the largest lake in Belarus and the pearls of the whole region. Amazing landscapes, richness of flora and fauna, variety of terrain give this region of Belarus exceptional value!  In this picturesque complex near the lake, the culture and life of the rural estate life of the 19th century is recreated. More than a dozen picturesque wooden houses with authentic interiors and designer finds represent all the charm and comfort of a leisurely life in communication with nature. 
A sightseeing tour of the complex includes a visit to the following facilities (extra charge):

  • equestrian sports-circus show;
  • water mill with a museum of life XIX-XX centuries and treats with homemade bread;
  • Samovar Museum (over 500 copies, among which there are unique exhibits);
  • viewing tower with an exposition of moonshine stills;
  • collection of retro cars.

Checking-out.  Departure. The route passes through Myadel – the historical capital of the region. The castle, the church of the former Carmelite monastery, have been preserved in the city.

Next – excursion “Blue Lakes” – the territory of the National Park “Narochansky”. Magnificent beauty landscapes, transparent lakes Glublya and Glubleka, mysterious in its gloom Lake Dead leave an indelible impression of communication with the nature. And then open the landscapes of Lake Svir and the village of Svir – the former residence of the Nalschansky Prince Dovmont. The non-baroque church in Svir and the chamber Carmelite monastery ensemble in Zasvir leave a strong impression with their architectural forms. The tour ends with a tour of the ancient estate in Shemetovo with its picturesque ponds, various outbuildings and the Church of the Most Holy Virgin Mary of the 19-20 centuries.
